Lehigh Valley Public Media is a growing public media company and home to the recently launched LehighValleyNews.com, the area's only nonprofit and locally operated digital news platform as well as public media television station PBS39 and NPR radio station WLVR 91.3 that offer local, national, and international programming that informs, educates, and entertains. Our education team helps thousands of students and educators at home, at school, and in the community through television programming, outreach services, and other special programs and events.

Expected Compensation Range: $80,000 per year
Lehigh Valley Public Media has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Membership. The Membership Director's primary responsibilities include driving a progressive and sustainable program to support PBS39, WLVR 91.3 and LehighValleyNews.com through membership opportunities. Additional responsibilities include emphasis on data oversight, management of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities of 11,000+ members.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR A SUCCESSFUL MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR
Unify membership opportunities and resources across the entire organization ensuring the membership and organization's mission is understood, supported, and communicated properly.
Balance the need to generate new revenue through new strategies while maintaining existing revenue from the current membership base by increasing retention rates.
Enhancing a culture of support and ensuring donor centric practices are integral to development/membership tactics.
Provide guidance to the VP of Development on technological changes and considerations that can enhance and grow membership opportunities.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess, enhance, and direct an annual plan of outreach for membership acquisition, retention, and additional support.
Develop and execute a timeline of carefully mapped outreach through a variety of marketing initiatives including direct mail, email, social media, on-air pledge, in-person or virtual events and telemarketing.
Assist with development operations by overseeing data management to support philanthropic giving to the organization.
Manage the database and member acquisition vendors; ensures all current updates are reviewed, installed, and introduced to all users. Review and recommend additional features that will meet specific and growing needs of the program.
Understand the technology needed to support and fulfill on-air and web-based membership programs.
Qualifications

Ability to work tactfully and effectively with both team members and organization members.
Strong analytical, decision making, organizational and data analytics skills.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of membership database structure and philanthropy highly desired.
Knowledge of other public media membership success strategies.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience managing a membership program.
Public Media and non-profit experience are highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related area of study.
TRAITS
Takes initiative with implementing and executing the membership strategy.
Ability to work across various departments to create and execute tactical initiatives.
